It was on October 8, 1993 when BCBP Cebu opened Mactan Outreach with its first breakfast fellowship at then Cafe Cesario. The breakfast progressed quite slowly that it took almost a year before BCLP1 was conducted.
But what started in 1994 as a 15-couple and 5 singles BCBP Mactan outreach is now a vibrant chapter of almost 200 active members. From BCLP1 God blessed us with abundant harvests. There was even a time when there were over a hundred participants to the BCLP.
We did not rest on our laurels though. As the Spirit led us so we went. We crossed the seas and braved the storms when we opened Ormoc outreach in October 1995.
In 1999 we flew to Mindanao and opened Zamboanga Outreach. A very daring move for a young chapter. But God is good. He sustained us until BCBP Zamboanga became a chapter.
As we grew in numbers, so was the need to split the chapter to shepherd well God’s flock. And so in 2000 BCBP Mandaue chapter was born. Then we reached out to the northern part of Cebu as we brought God to Bogo in September 2001.
From then on many BCLPs had been done. And indeed the Lord of the harvest has been so good to BCBP Mactan as He again increased its tribe. And in March 2017 there was again the need to split the chapter. Thus BCBP Lapu-Lapu was born. And the blessings did not stop pouring, Bogo Outreach became a full-pledged chapter in September of 2017.
And still the harvest continues to flow in abundance. After the split, Mactan conducted BCLPs 25, 26 & 27 as it continued to grow in numbers, adding more than 50 members combined.
Through all these 26 years many members have come and go. Many too have come and stayed. To those who believe that life is a journey with others, BCBP Mactan is here to stay … by God’s grace, with God’s Grace and through God’s grace.
